Mirova partners with Macquarie Professional Series
The Mirova Global Sustainable Equity fund can now be accessed through the Macquarie Professional Series, the first thematic sustainable global equities fund manager to join the suite of investment solutions.
Managed by Mirova US, an affiliate of Natixis Investment Managers, the partnership was in response to growing demand from Australian advisers and their clients looking for sustainable investment solutions.
Mirova’s Global Sustainable Equity fund offered investors access to a concentrated global equity portfolio, built on a thematic approach that sought positive social and environmental impact in addition to financial outperformance.
Commenting on the partnership, Natixis Investment Manager’s country head of Australia and New Zealand, Louise Watson, said the expansion into the wholesale market was a natural growth pathway for Mirova in Australia.
“We are delighted the Mirova Global Sustainable Equity fund has been included in the Macquarie Professional Series where it can deliver a genuine sustainable investment solution to a broader range of investors who want to reconcile environmental and social positive impact investing with long-term performance.”
According to Mirova US, chief executive, Jens Peers, the global appetite for sustainable investing increased during the COVID-19 pandemic, as investors were keen to understand how their investments were making a difference from an ESG perspective.
“We have seen the accelerated adoption of sustainable investing options by investors who are looking for a genuine approach to ESG investing and we are pleased to be able to share our international knowledge, thought-leadership and experience with Australian investors.”
Megan Aubrey, Macquarie Asset Management’s head of public investments, Asia Pacific, said: “Following an extensive search across different products around the world, we are pleased to partner with Mirova to offer a sustainable investment solution to clients in this market.
“The Macquarie Professional Series is committed to providing investors with greater investment choice and access to world class fund managers and we are excited to add this complimentary strategy to our existing partnership suite.”
