First Sentier appoints IR director
First Sentier Investors has appointed AMP Capital senior investment specialist for infrastructure debt strategies, Celine Kabashima, to the Sydney-based role of investor relations director in its direct infrastructure team.
Before her previous role at AMP, she was also portfolio manager for the multi-manager absolute return portfolio.
She would report to Danny Latham, partner and co-head Australia and New Zealand, and would manage the communication and relationships with existing clients and investors in Australia, Asia and North America.
Latham said “Celine is a fantastic addition to the team and joins at a very exciting time for the business. We are well placed to further grow and develop the business, as well as to build upon the robust performance that the team has delivered for our clients during 2020. Celine’s skills and experience will be invaluable in further strengthening the partnership with our clients”.
Kabashima was also an advocate for women in funds management, having founded the 3TOM networking group.
She was also a founding member of the 100 Women in Finance (Sydney) organising committee and was a member of the CFA Diversity Committee.
Kabashima said she was pleased to be joining a funds management firm that valued inclusion and diversity.
“I’m attracted to First Sentier Investors’ commitment to responsible investment, in addition to the inclusive culture and growth of the direct infrastructure team,” Kabashima said.
“Clients have responded well to the accessibility of the team, and I look forward to building on the strong relationships forged with investors.”
