A ballsy effort by Avaloq
What is one of the fastest-growing brands among golfers on the Gold Coast?
Well, after Money Management's recent and highly successful Future of Wealth Management Conference, the answer is arguably Avaloq.
It is not that Gold Coast golfers have a particular interest in Swiss-based financial services technology companies or, indeed, platforms such as Westpac’s Panorama, it is just that the golfers who lined up for the golf day attaching to the Future of Wealth Management conference left a good many golf balls out on the fairways and in the waterways of RACV Royal Pines.
You see, Avaloq very generously sponsored the golf day and, with it, the half dozen golf balls handed to each participant to enjoy their day on the greens.
For his part, Outsider can attest to the loss of at least four Avaloq balls and he knows that the Avaloq team itself also hooked in to get a slice of the marketing effort.
Demonstrating admirable leadership and economy, Avaloq’s Australian managing director, James Land, was even photographed fishing one of the prized golf balls from what would otherwise have been a watery grave.
For the record, the coveted Sand Jar trophy was won by a team which included Abdul Khan, Craig Hayes, Arnie Selbarajah and Paul Harding-Davis.
