Brett Chatfield has stepped down as Fidante's institutional business development manager (BDM) to take up the role of investment manager public markets at Cbus.

Appointed to Fidante in May last year, Chatfield held the BDM role across its boutiques Kinetic Investment Partners, Greencape Capital and Wavestone Capital.

In his new position, he will advise on the design of the public markets segment of Cbus' investment portfolio which includes Australian equities, global equities, fixed interest, cash and currency, and manage relationships with investment managers.

He will also play a central role in the superannuation fund's overall investment portfolio strategy, Cbus stated.

"Brett's experience in asset consulting and his strong understanding of the Cbus investment philosophy made him the ideal candidate for this role," Cbus executive manager investment strategy Kristian Fok said.

Chatfield said he was looking forward to working with the investment team again after providing investment advice to the fund while he was a senior consultant with Frontier Partners.

He will commence his new role in February.
