AMP Capital adds to alternatives team

AMP Capital has added two portfolio managers to its alternatives team.
Dr Alistair Rew joins AMP as a senior portfolio manager after eight years experience in New York, London and Sydney with XL Group managing risk management frameworks for large hedge funds.
Celine Nguyen joins the alternatives team as a portfolio manager. She has six years experience as a research analyst at EIM Management in the US where she conducted investment hedge fund due diligence on a range of strategies.
AMP Capital head of alternatives Suzanne Tavill said the appointments would bolster the team's international experience and credentials.
"We are committed to dedicating resources to drive the alternative investments programs which provide defensiveness and diversification, something that will be increasingly critical in a yield-starved world," Tavill said.
The hires bring the number of investment specialists in the AMP alternatives team to five.
