Fund manager, AllianceBerstein (AB), has appointed Gates Moss to its equities team as a senior research analyst.

Moss previously worked for Colonial First State Global Asset Management as a senior investment analyst in their core Australian equities team.

He also worked as an analyst for AB's equities team from 2006 to 2012.

AB's chief executive, Jen Driscoll, said she was pleased to welcome him back as he was highly experienced.

AB's chief investment officer, Roy Maslan, said Moss had a great depth of knowledge when it came to Australian equities, and he was a very capable analyst.

"We know Gates well and he is an excellent fit for our team and research process," Maslan said.

Moss has also worked as a management consultant at the Boston Consulting Group in the US and Australia.
