BT boosts distribution wrap team

BT Financial Grouphas expanded its distribution team with Don Sillar moving from the group’s corporate superannuation division to head up wrap account distribution.

The appointment of Sillar follows on from that of Michael Bailey reported inMoney Managementin October, who joined the group fromMLCin a newly created role to take on distribution on BT’s multi-manager portfolios.

Sillar will be involved in developing and directing the distribution of the BT Wrap platforms, including the group’s BT Private Label Wrap product, which is used by 34 dealer groups as well as the BT Wrap which was first made available as an unbadged product in late 2001.

Prior to taking on the new role Sillar was a senior business development manager for corporate superannuation and has also worked as operations manager and head of relationship management since joining in 1991.

Bailey joins BT after a 15 year stint selling multi-manager products with MLC. He assumes the title of senior business development manager with BT and will be entrusted with training the group’s existing sales team on how to sell the multi-manager funds.

Sillar and Bailey will report to BT head of distribution Chris Freeman.
