SSFS announces telephone advice service to WA & ACT

State Super Financial Services (SSFS) has announced the expansion of its telephone-based advice service to members in Western Australia (WA) and the Australian Capital Territory (ACT).
SSFS managing director Michael Monaghan said the telephone service would give clients ‘specialist advice' instead of having to arrange face-to-face meetings, which can be time consuming and inconvenient for clients who are not centrally located.
"We expect that the increased ease of access will encourage more members to take up the service, and take the first step towards identifying and maximising their future retirement, with the help of specialist advice," he said.
The company is doubling the telephone-based advice in WA and ACT. Sixteen accredited client service advisers will provide the service.
"The telephone-based advice service will support the uplift in demand for public sector financial advice and provide another access point for our members to obtain advice," Monaghan said.
Regional manager of SSFS Canberra Judy Brown said the telephone service would support the two offices already operational in ACT.
"We've innovated to provide elements one would expect from a high quality adviser but done with a skilled adviser by phone," she said.
"The service is specific to the individual's defined benefit super account, which helps them understand their choices and make better decisions."
