Members reappointed to Superannuation Complaints Tribunal

Five part-time members of the Superannuation Complaints Tribunal (SCT) have been reappointed for another three-year term.
The people SCT members to be reappointed are Ross Christie, Colin Grenfell, Dr Carolyn Re, Katy Adams and Ella de Rooy.
The SCT is an informal alternative to the courts for the resolution of certain superannuation complaints. The body also reviews complaints that cannot be resolved by conciliation.
The SCT consists of a chairperson and deputy chairperson and currently has 19 part-time members. The minimum number of members the body can have is seven.
Part-time members help to hear complaints. They are appointed by Senator Nick Sherry, Minister for Superannuation and Corporate Law, and generally come from actuarial, legal, medical and/or superannuation backgrounds, a statement from Sherry’s office said.
Sherry said the reappointments would ensure the SCT has appropriately qualified members to deal with the various issues that arise in the superannuation sphere.
The SCT was established by the Superannuation (Resolution of Complaints) Act 1993.
