New tax and accounting body formed
A new professional body has been established in the tax and accounting space formed under the auspices of Taxpayers Australia Inc (TAI).
The body is TAI Practitioners & Advisers Limited (TAI PAL) which is being promoted as being suited to accountants and lawyers working in the tax sphere.
The TAI said that the new body held Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) recognition for the purpose of giving professional training to people registered as tax or BAS agents.
TAI PAL president Jaya Naidu said the new body aimed to provide a high quality training service for accountants, which included the provision of seminars, workshops and publications.
"TAI PAL is affiliated to Taxpayers Australia and this means that tax experts holding TAI PAL membership will receive the best assistance money can buy to build their tax knowledge," Naidu said.
"We are growing by the day and feedback from new members indicates their main concerns are in providing a value add service to their clients and meeting their continuing professional education requirements."
The new body has sought to encourage new members by offering a free seminar to those who join before 31 January.
