Westpac's Peter Hanlon moves to advisory role
The man who established and led Westpac's Australian Financial Services division, Peter Hanlon, is to move to an advisory role within the banking group as an 'enterprise executive'.
Hanlon will hand over leadership of the AFS division to Brian Hartzer on 20 August and after a two-month handover period will work directly with Westpac chief executive Gail Kelly as an adviser on industry and Westpac-specific issues and reputational initiatives.
Kelly said that as well as using his experience to help implement the next phase in the Group's strategy, Hanlon would also be accountable for driving Westpac's plan to mark its 200th anniversary in 2017.
