Investment research house van Eyk Research has recruited for the first time following staff cuts in November 2010, adding two members to its research team.

Matthew Olsen has been appointed as senior investment analyst and Danika Wright has joined as an investment analyst.

Olsen has worked in analyst roles for various companies including Colonial First State, JP Morgan, Bankers Trust, Westpac and ABN Amro, both in Australia and overseas.

Wright completed her PhD in finance last year and previously worked for the global funds management and advisory business Rismark International, which is part of the Macquarie Funds Group.

Their appointments follow the departure of a former senior investment analyst at van Eyk, Caitlin Ruddock, who moved to UBS earlier this month and was appointed as a research house and consultant relationship manager.

Olsen and Wright are the first two additions to van Eyk Research after the research house performed staff cuts across its research, product and IT teams in November last year.
