Thawley returns to Capital Group
After venturing into the Commonwealth Public Service as Secretary of the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, Michael Thawley has returned to Capital Group Australia as senior vice president, Capital strategy research.
The company announced Thawley's return this week, saying Thawley would be working closely with the company's global investment team, advising on potential investment impacts stemming from international political and policy developments.
It said Thawley would also join the board of Capital Strategy Research, the group's global macroeconomic team, and would be based in Los Angeles.
Previously, while at Capital Group, Thawley served on the investment committees of Capital World Investments and Capital Research Global Investors — two of the companies' three equity investment groups.
