State Street has appointed John Venardos as managing director of portfolio solutions.

He would join as the firm expanded its Asia-Pacific presence across transition management, currency management, execution solutions and exposure solutions.

Venardos joined State Street from Russell Investments where he was managing director and head of implementation for Asia Pacific.

James Woodward, head of portfolio solutions for State Street Global Markets in Asia Pacific, said: “We are thrilled to welcome John to our team. John has tremendous knowledge and experience in our industry which will enable us to deepen the focus and resources we bring to our clients.

“The landscape is shifting as clients navigate the changing macro environment, industry consolidation, margin compression and new regulatory demands,” said Woodward.  “The addition of John to the team will add a depth of experience that ensures their changing expectations continue to be met.”

Based in Sydney from 6 June, he would report to Woodward.
