SQM Research appoints investment analyst
SQM Research has appointed Brendan Irwin as full-time senior investment analyst, responsible for managed fund research and ratings.
He had over 30 years’ experience in portfolio management and investment research roles, having held senior research positions with UBS Private Bank, Mercer, Count Financial and AMP.
The role had opened up as a result of an expansion in SQM’s research coverage of managed funds and other related investment products.
Louis Christopher, managing director of SQM research, said it was a busy time and Irwin’s expertise would be put to immediate use.
“I believe the reason for our expansion in this sector is rather simple - we offer detailed research and data by some of the best people in the industry,” Christopher said.
“This makes SQM an insightful research house that keeps its potential conflicts to a bare minimum.
“An increasing number of industry participants are appreciating this experienced, clean skin approach and so are voting accordingly.”
