Colonial's licensed financial services general manager Janet Smith has made a surprise move and is leaving the group for personal rea-sons.
Smith had been heavily involved in rationalising the banner groups at Colonial and establishing the back-office operation for the groups in Sydney.
"I have enjoyed the job here and we have reached stage one of the in-tegration," she says. "It was a good time to stop and think about what I want to do for the next 10 years."
She was previously head of distribution at Prudential. Smith moved to her current position at Colonial earlier this year as part of the in-tegration of L & G and Prudential distribution business into Colo-nial.
She is being replaced by Allan Griffiths. He is general manager of Colonial Part-ners, the group's franchise operation. He is to retain this role as well as taking on running the back-office operations and will move to Sydney shortly.
