Senior public servant appointed to bank board
Bendigo and Adelaide Bank has appointed a former senior Federal Public Servant to its board.
The banking group announced this week it had appointed former Treasury Deputy Secretary, Jan Harris as a non-executive director.
The banking group's announcement noted that Harris has held senior roles in the Department of the Treasury and the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, including most recently as deputy secretary at the Treasury.
Commenting on the board appointment, Bendigo and Adelaide Bank chairman, Robert Johanson said that until her recent retirement from the public service, Harris had been a member of the Council of Financial Regulators, the Centre for International Finance and Regulation, the Financial Sector Advisory Committee and the board of the Australian Reinsurance Pool Corporation.
"Jan currently also serves as a member of the Audit and Risk Committee of the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation," he said.
"Such exceptional experience across finance, markets and government, including the formulation of public policy, will bring additional breadth and balance to the board."
