Select Investment Partners hires Matt Olsen

van Eyk’s Matt Olsen has joined specialist investment manager Select Investment Partners as head of research.
The former deputy chief investment officer and head of manager research at van Eyk will be providing additional expertise to Select’s Customised Portfolio Service (CPS).
“Matt’s expertise in asset allocation, portfolio construction and selecting best of breed managers gained in his prior roles have equipped him well to take on this senior role as our head of research,” Select CIO Dominic McCormick said.
Before his tenure at van Eyk, Olsen was a senior investment analyst at Colonial First State, LFG Holdings and Ausbil Dexia.
“Joining Select is a logical step given my skillset and experience in analyzing and rating underlying Australian and international managers,” he said.
In bolstering its team of investment professionals, Select head of CPS and chief risk officer David Yale said the business is engaging with an increasing number of financial advisory groups seeking independence from the constraints of large institutions.
He said the addition of Olsen would allow Select to build further upon its CPS offering.
Select Asset Management launched its Investment Partners business in October last year.
