International real estate investment manager, Savills Investment Management has appointed Lee Tredwell as head of investment for Savills IM in Australia.

Announcing the appointment today, the company said Tredwell's appointment was in line with the firm's plans to increase its exposure in the Australian real estate market by enhancing its local presence, which was first established with the opening of its Sydney office in May 2016.

It said Tredwell had broad and deep experience in multiple asset classes and markets having previously spent 10 years at GE Capital Real Estate where he was responsible for GE's equity and debt investments in Australia and New Zealand, together with fund investments throughout South East Asia.

The announcement said Tradwell would be responsible for growing Savills IM's Australia investment platform and would report to chief investment officer, Kiran Patel.
