RBS appoints new equity capital markets head

The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) has appointed David Goffage as head of equity capital markets Australia, replacing Patrick Broughton, who is relocating to London to take up the role of head of equity capital markets, Europe, the Middle East and Africa and US.

Goffage was previously managing director of RBS equity capital markets Australia and has worked within the division for the past nine years, according to a media release.

In his new role, Goffage will also join the equities origination global management team.

RBS also appointed Richard Hitchens, previously of Goldman Sachs, as director of specialist quantitative sales within its Australian equities division. He will be responsible for delivering RBS's tailored quant research produced in both Australia and the UK.

Roger Spellman, previously of Credit Suisse, has been appointed director, head of sales, for Australian equities, responsible for marketing the Australian equity products to UK and European clients.

Mark Tisdell, formerly of Macquarie Bank, has been appointed as investor product sales specialist and will be responsible for driving the sales of multi-asset products to clients within retail distribution networks.
