Pretty appointment for Macquarie

Former Telstra heavyweight Ted Pretty is to become a full-time executive director at Macquarie Capital Advisers.

As a result of his executive director appointment, Pretty will remain chairman of recently-floated RP Data, but will lose his status as an independent director.

The board of RP Data said that in view of Pretty’s contribution to its initial public offer and subsequent growth, it had unanimously been decided that Pretty be requested to remain as chairman.

However, the board said that independent director Ian Fraser would be lead director.
