Former AMP corporate superannuation boss Grahame Evans has been recruited to head up Professional Investment Services’ recently formed consolidator group Professional Accountants Limited.

Evans has been named managing director of the group set up in November last year in response to growing pressure placed on PIS practices to join some of the big consolidator groups. The group is primarily targeted at accounting practices which are serious about financial planning and looking for equity in a larger business structure.

Evans has been head of corporate superannuation at AMP since moving on from his position at the helm of AMP Consulting. His career includes management positions at Tyndall Life, Legal & General and GT.

Evans will be based in Sydney while PIS will continue with its Queensland head office.

PIS has also made a number of other appointments. Former Zurich sales manager Winston Aslin and former Grant Lawyers staffer Lisa Sawyer will take on business development roles in Queensland while former Austplanners staffer Pamela Whitehead joins the group in Melbourne as a business development manager. The group has also expanded its paraplanning operations with the appointment of Donna Hearnshaw and Graeme Parker.
