Pendal has nabbed Morningstar’s managing director, research strategy Australasia, Anthony Serhan, as its head of distribution, Australia.

Serhan has over 30 years’ investment and financial services experience, with several senior roles at Morningstar including chief executive officer, Australasia, and managing director, Ibbotson Associates (now Morningstar Investment Management).

Richard Brandweiner, chief executive officer at Pendal, said he was confident Serhan would provide the leadership required to help them execute on their sales strategy.

“His extensive commercial and technical experience from both an institutional and retail perspective, coupled with a strong understanding of investment markets and products, made him the ideal choice for the role,” he said.

Serhan would report directly to Brandweiner and commence his new role in late 2018.
