Former HSBC Global Asset Management chief investment officer Dr Paul Kasian has joined Equity Trustees (EQT) as head of equities.

With more than 25 years financial services experience in asset management, Dr Kasian was most recently at privately-owned funds management business Accordius as executive director and CIO.

He previously served as HSBC's head of the global financials equity team overseeing large global equity mandates.

In 1995, Dr Kasian co-founded Wallara Asset Management.

“Paul is a highly respected and experienced wealth management professional and his appointment is the next step in the further development and growth of EQT’s funds management capability,” chief investment officer George Boubouras said.

“Paul and I worked together in the past at HSBC Global Asset Management as part of a very successful asset management team, and I am particularly pleased to be able to appoint someone of his calibre experience and track record to the EQT team."
