Nikko AM appoints outside director
Nikko Asset Management has appointed Mari Yamauchi as an outside director of its board.
Yamauchi has been a visiting professor at the Doshisha University Institute for Technology Enterprise and Competitiveness, with a focus on management and employment systems.
The new director was previously managing director and head of products and services for the wealth management unit at UBS Securities Japan. She also held roles at Morgan Stanley and JP Morgan Securities Japan.
President and chief executive officer of Nikko AM, Takumi Shibata, said Yamauchi’s service at global financial institutions, research on management, employment and human resources, and extensive global experience would contribute to strengthening the firm’s governance.
