New look leadership team at CFSGAM
Colonial First State Global Asset Management (CFSGAM) has bolstered its senior leadership team with three new appointments.
Current group regional managing director for Asia and Japan Michael Stapleton will take on the role of managing director Asia Pacific, based in Hong Kong.
He will be responsible for institutional relationship management, consultant relationships, sales activities and marketing and communications in Australia and New Zealand, while continuing to oversee business development and sales activities in Asia and Japan.
Stapleton has previously served as CFSGAM head of business development in the UK.
Chris Turpin has been appointed managing director EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa) and global head of product.
He will lead the strategic development and on-going product management of CFSGAM's investment capabilities globally as well as the group's responsible investment strategy.
Appointed to the role of head of distribution, EMEA and global consultant relationships is Kanesh Lakhani, who will continue to work in London.
He joined CFSGAM in 2011 and is currently responsible for the firm's institutional and wholesale business.
As a result of the leadership changes, CFSGAM regional managing director for Australian and New Zealand Joanna Davison and regional managing director EMEA Gary Withers have left the company.
CFSGAM chief executive Mark Lazberger said the appointments have positioned the business for growth in challenging market conditions.
