Macquarie has appointed Eric Schimpf as the new head of Macquarie Private Wealth, replacing Peter Coleman who left last year.
Schimpf joins Macquarie from Merrill Lynch, where he held the role of regional managing director for the Private Banking and Investment Group. In the role he was responsible for Merryll Lynch’s ultra-high-net-worth clients in the southeastern part of the United States.
“Eric has a strong track record of achievement from his days at Merrill Lynch, and we believe his breadth of client-facing experience and his strong leadership qualities are ideally suited to Macquarie Private Wealth’s culture,” said head of Macquarie Banking and Financial Services Group Peter Maher.
Commenting about his new role, Schimpf said: “Macquarie has built a solid reputation and foundation in Australia, New Zealand and Asia and I look forward to the opportunity to play a leadership role in helping this business expand globally, while providing excellent client service in our existing business.”
Schimpf will relocate to Sydney with his family from Atlanta, Georgia and will commence his new role in the next few months.
