New head of funds management at Viento
Listed property group Viento has appointed Kevin Murphy as its head of funds management.
Viento Group executive chairman Robert Nichevich said Murphy’s appointment supports the group’s strategy of growing its property funds management business, including expanding its product portfolio.
Murphy has more than 20 years experience in property funds management, a statement from Viento said. He was most recently divisional director of Multiplex Capital in London, where he established the group’s UK funds management business. Prior to this he was an executive director of MCS Property Limited, a role that he held during the sale of MCS to Centro Properties Group.
Murphy said while the commercial property market currently represents a “challenging environment” with unprecedented volatility, he believes this creates opportunities for investors.
Viento Group is a listed funds management company that focuses on unlisted direct property investments. The group has $280 million in assets under management.
