HSBC has appointed its new head of debt capital markets in Australia, with long-time employee Sean Henderson to take on the role from 1 January, 2011.

The new appointment came as the bank continues to expand its debt capital markets team, with new additions planned next year.

Henderson will oversee the team responsible for the origination of bonds and loans for Australian clients, in addition to the execution of Australian dollar product.

Henderson first joined HSBC in 1998 and has been HSBC head of debt syndicate for Asia-Pacific since 2005.

He will report locally to Gavin Powell, head of global markets, Australia, and functionally to Rod Sykes, head of debt capital markets origination, Asia-Pacific.
