National Australia Bank appoints general manager of specialised group assets
National Australia Bank (NAB) has appointed Peter Thodey the executive general manager of specialised group assets. He will be responsible for separating and managing down the specialised group assets portfolio, which was previously part of nabCapital. His appointment will take effect in September.
Thodey will step down from his position as the group executive committee as a consequence.
Colleen Harris will become the executive general manager, human capital strategy, for the unit. She will assume Thodey’s current responsibilities in addition to her existing portfolio.
“At the recent NAB strategy update I said these legacy portfolios would be segregated and managed down, and providing strong management oversight is a crucial part of prudently dealing with these legacy portfolios,” said group chief executive Cameron Clyne.
NAB has also appointed Daryl Johnson as the general manager of NAB corporate.
Johnson is the former managing director, business banking, at ANZ bank. He has also held the role of senior manager of auto finance, general manager of merchant services, and deputy general manager of the Philippines.
David Gall, executive general manager for corporate banking and specialised business, said Johnson brought a wealth of experience with small business customers and large corporates in Australia and Asia.
