Morningstar appoints co-heads of managed funds research
Morningstar has appointed Chris Douglas and Tim Murphy as co-heads of its managed funds research team. Douglas will be responsible for leading the fund manager review process, while Murphy will manage model portfolios and relationships with consulting and adviser clients.
They will also be responsible for coordinating their local fund research with other research teams.
Former head of adviser and research Anthony Serhan will take up the position of managing director of consulting firm Intech.
Morningstar is also creating an enhanced ratings committee structure, consisting of former Credit Suisse Boston First head of equity research Tony Young, in-house research staff and senior analysts.
Chief executive Andrew Bird said Douglas and Murphy will continue to drive forward improvements to Morningstar's fund research processes and the services it provides to investors and financial planners.
