Marcello Bertasso moves from AMP to Macquarie Life

Former AMP head of underwriting Marcello Bertasso has moved to Macquarie Life, where he will serve as a national underwriting manager.
The newly created role would focus on strengthening Macquarie's team, the company has announced.
Bertasso moved to Australia in 2008 from South Africa, having been appointed by CommInsure to take on a senior underwriting role, before moving to AMP.
Prior to this, Bertasso was with global reinsurer Swiss Re for 10 years.
In his new role, Bertasso will be based in Sydney, but will take on a national role, according to Dr Sally Phillips, Macquarie Life's head of underwriting and claims.
"Marcello has a wealth of experience in the life insurance and reinsurance industries, which sees him bring to Macquarie Life a unique understanding of underwriting and operations," Phillips said.
