Macquarie appoints new technical manager
Macquarie Adviser Services’ technical services team, MAStech, has announced the appointment of Julie Fox as a technical manager.
Fox joins MAStech with 19 years of financial services experience, gained in both Australia and Canada.
She has held technical roles at Colonial First State, ING and Zurich, but most recently Fox worked as a technical manager with AMP TapIn.
Within the MAStech team, she will be responsible for producing various adviser-facing materials by interpreting legislation and distilling this, along with its planning implications, into straightforward commentaries.
The head of MAStech, David Shirlow, said 2010 is unfolding as a landmark year in which new policy and legislative settings for the financial services industry are taking shape, and the newly appointed technical manager would assist advisers throughout Australia in developing strategies.
“The out-workings of the Ripoll, Henry, Cooper and other governmental reviews will have wide-ranging implications for advisers and their clients, and are obviously a key focus of discussion and debate,” Shirlow said.
“Julie is a talented technical manager with experience across a range of legislative areas and she will be working closely with advisers to help determine how these changes apply to them and the specific needs of their clients,” he added.
In her role, Fox will also contribute to technical updates, support materials and technical editorial.
