Lonsec hires following IPL acquisition

Lonsec has made several appointments following its acquisition of Implemented Portfolios (IPL).
Bruce Hawkins would join the firm as chief operating officer, a newly-created role, while Naomi Christopher was appointed to head of marketing and PR.
Steve Garth was appointed as chair of Lonsec’s newly-established product investment oversight committee. As a sub-committee of the Lonsec board, this was responsible for ensuring the IPL and Lonsec portfolios had the necessary personnel, processes and risk management frameworks in place.
Hawkins was formerly group executive-Xplore Wealth at HUB24 and had also worked at NAB Wealth and Aviva Australia. He had been leading the integration of IPL and would now join in a permanent role.
Christopher joined as part of the acquisition of IPL, which took place last August, where she was national manager for marketing and communication. She had also held similar roles at Midwinter and SQM Research.
Finally, associate portfolio manager, Nick Field, would join the firm’s Asset Allocation and Investment Committee.
Lonsec chief executive, Mike Wright, said: “Over the past six months, both the Lonsec and IPL teams have worked tirelessly to understand each business and client group. I am excited about the growth plans we have for the coming year and the integration of our services to all clients.”
