Former Standard & Poor's Fund Service head of fixed income managed funds research David Erdonmez will join Lonsec as general manager - managed funds research.

In his new role, he will be responsible for managing a team of analysts undertaking core managed funds research and ensuring ongoing development of the research process.

In other senior executive changes, the role of Michael Elsworth has been expanded to general manager - specialised research in line with the research house's coverage of investment products.

With the demand growing for specialised products, including direct assets, exchange traded funds and separately managed accounts, Amanda Gillespie, chief executive of Lonsec's research business, said the research house has boosted the number of analysts covering the area.

"This expansion of Michael's roles will position Lonsec to continue delivering high quality research across these evolving sectors," she said.

Lonsec has also promoted Paul Pavlidis - head of ratings - equity and property managed funds - to chief operating officer, with overall responsibility for business management.
