Lonsec appoints new executive director
Lonsec Research has appointed Libby Newman, head of manager research, to the role of executive director where she would lead the research house’s team of 40 investment analysts and consultants.
Newman has over 25 years’ experience in investment management and funds research, joining Lonsec in 2007 and holding several senior research roles covering fixed income and multi-asset funds since then.
Newman also spent 10 years in Suncorp’s fixed-income team, managing insurance mandates, and has experience in operations, investment performance systems and risk management at Suncorp, Abbey National, DST International and Artesian.
Lonsec CEO, Charlie Haynes, said Newman had developed an “intimate understanding” of the research needs of financial advisers and was widely respected in the industry for her depth of investment product knowledge.
