Laband joins Towers Perrin

Former National Asset Management (NAM) managing director Paul Laband has been signed by Towers Perrin to head up investment management at TRM and head up its asset consulting business.

Former National Asset Management (NAM) managing director Paul Laband has been signed by Towers Perrin to head up investment management at TRM and head up its asset consulting business.

Laband had been at NAM for about five years and left a few months after it was an-nounced that National would acquire the funds management business of MLC. Prior to his role at NAM, Laband was managing director of Abbey life Investment Services in the UK.

Laband joins Towers Perrin as the investment director of TRM, Towers Perrin’s spe-cialist adviser to large superannuation funds. Clients of TRM include the $10.4 billion Commonwealth Superannuation Scheme (CSS) and Public Service Superannuation Scheme (PSS).

Laband will also take over from Hazel McNeilage as the head of Towers Perrin’s asset consulting business. McNeilage is moving to another position within Towers Perrin.

In addition to the appointment of Paul Laband, Towers Perrin has also recruited Glen Howard as an asset consultant in Sydney.
