IOOF has appointed Renato Mota as general manager, distribution, effective immediately.

Mota has been with IOOF for six and a half years and was most recently general manager, investor solutions.

Mota will utilise the corporate strategy and commercial decision-making experience he has gained from his time at IOOF, Rothschild, NAB and ANZ, and apply this discipline to the planning, marketing, and distribution of superannuation and multi-manager investment products, the company said.

In the distribution stream, Mota will be responsible for formulating and overseeing the distribution strategy for superannuation products to the external independent financial advice market. The corporate marketing team will report to Mota. The distribution and marketing teams will continue to work closely with the customer management team on sales and marketing campaigns and adviser analytics.

Following completion of the IOOF Global One product rationalisation project, the product team will also transfer under Mota. This is expected to occur in early April 2010, the company said.
