ING Investment Management (INGIM) Australia has appointed Stuart Devlin as its southern region manager. He will be responsible for building the organisation’s presence in the financial adviser markets in Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania and Western Australia.

This appointment follows INGIM’s earlier announcements regarding its plans to expand its investment manufacturing and distribution activities in Australia through dealer groups and platforms.

Devlin joins the company from AXA Australia where he most recently held the role of state sales manager for Victoria and Tasmania.

His previous experience also includes performing various roles at Zurich Financial Services and the Lonsdale Group.

Head of wholesale business at INGIM Australia Jim McKay said the advising community was the key area of focus for the company’s strategy, following the sale of ING Group’s holding in the ING Australia joint venture to ANZ in late 2009.

The new appointment coincides with INGIM opening a sales office in Melbourne, where Devlin will be based.
