ING Australia appoints Stewart Brentnall as CIO

ING Australia has appointed Stewart Brentnall to the newly created role of chief investment officer.

“Stewart is a senior and highly experienced investment professional who has worked in the investment management industry for over 20 years,” said ING Australia general manager, superannuation and investments, Ross Bowden.

“In this newly created role, Stewart will establish a team with responsibility for designing and implementing ING Australia’s future asset management strategy,” he said.

“This will focus on the development and positioning of investment menus, managers and investment solutions on our various platforms. It will also include managing our relationships with internal and external investment stakeholders, developing new investment products and creating innovative and competitive investment solutions for our customers.”

Brentnall has previously held senior roles at BT Financial Group, Queensland Investment Corporation, Goldman Sachs and Schroder Investment Management. He has managed Australian and global equity portfolios as well as multi-manager and diversified funds.
