Fund manager, IML, has appointed a new assistant portfolio manager in a move aimed at dealing with the company's continued growth.

The company announced that it had appointed Marc Whittaker as the assistant portfolio manager primarily to assist Simon Conn in the management of the IML smaller company portfolios.

It said that prior to joining IML, Whittaker had been employed as a portfolio manager at Milford Asset Management for six years with responsibility for their Australian equity portfolios, prior to which he had worked at Lazard Asset Management as a senior industrials analyst.

Confirming the appointment, IML's Anton Tagliaferro said it represented a senior appointment and one which represented another step in broadening and deepening the strength and experience of IML's investment team, particularly in the small cap sector.
