IAG restructures, alters leadership team

General insurer, IAG has announced a corporate restructure giving rise to changes to its leadership team.

IAG managing director, Peter Harmer, announced on Tuesday that the new structure would see IAG having two customer-facing divisions responsible for sales, service and brand and marketing execution with the so-called Australian Consumer division focusing on individuals and families while the Australian Business Division would focus on businesses of all sizes.

Resulting from the restructure, IAG said the Group leadership team would comprise of Julie Batch, who would head up Customer Labs as chief customer officer, Chris Bertuch who would remain group general counsel and company secretary, Ben Bessell who would become chief executive, Australian Business Division, Andy Cornish who will be acting chief operating officer, David Harrington who has been appointed group executive, office of the CEO, Nick Hawkins as chief financial officer, Jacki Johnson as group executive, People Performance and Reputation, Anthony Justice as chief executive, Australian Consumer Division, Clair Rawlins as group executive, Digital and Technology, Clayton Whipp as group risk officer and Duncan Brain as chief executive, Asia.
