Geoff Wells named GMO head of Australian equities
GMO has appointed Geoff Wells as head of Australian equities effective February 5, 2010. He will replace Rick Suvak, who is leaving the company.

“Geoff’s research and portfolio management experience and his acumen in Australian equities will be of value to GMO’s clients, and his leadership skills will be an asset to GMO’s management team,” said GMO chief executive Marc Mayer.
Wells has 20 years of experience in the funds management industry. Before joining GMO in 2008 he worked at Macquarie Investment Management for several years, most recently as a senior portfolio manager. Previously, he worked at Bankers Trust Funds Management as a portfolio manager and analyst.
Wells earned his Bachelor of Commerce in Economics and Finance from the University of New South Wales and his Graduate Diploma from the Securities Institute of Australia.
