The Financial Planning Association’s (FPA's) Future2 Foundation has appointed AMP Financial Services director Steve Helmich as trustee and chair.

Helmich, a former chairman of the FPA from August 2002 to November 2004, is AMP director of financial planning, advice and services and is responsible for the operation of AMP’s financial planning businesses.

The Future2 Foundation aims to give a second chance and better future to disadvantaged youth in communities around Australia.

“The next big challenge for the foundation — and one I am determined to progress — is to engage the commitment of professionals in our industry to help people who are less fortunate and need a hand to turn around their lives.

“Supporting the community is a responsibility of every professional,” Helmich said.
