The Financial Planning Association (FPA) has appointed Matthew Rowe as the new deputy chair of the board, replacing current deputy chair Mark Spiers.

Rowe will take up his position following the annual general meeting in November.

“Matthew has been instrumental in the development of the FPA’s new code of professional conduct, and the practice standards within the code. He has also chaired a number of important committees in recent times,” FPA chair Julie Berry said.

Rowe is the managing director of Hood Sweeney, and has been an FPA board member since 2008.

Board members Julie Matheson, Louise Biti and David Haintz will also step down from the board at the end of their terms in November.

Rob Pederson will take over from Haintz, and will be the new board director representing the FPA on Future2.
