Former Xero Australia managing director, Chris Ridd has been appointed as chief executive of cloud-based financial management platform, myprosperity.

Announcement of Ridd’s appointment came at the same time as the company confirmed it had closed a $2.5 million strategic investment round which was supported by existing investors, and saw the addition of MYOB co-founder and early Xero investor, Craig Winkler, to the investor base.

Myprosperity partners with accountants and other trusted advisers, who then grant access to their clients on a subscription basis.

Myprosperity founder, Peter McCarthy said he had spent more than 20 years in the financial services industry before launching the company and had experienced firsthand the time wasted sourcing information.

“I saw a need in the market for a product that would help advisers understand the full financial picture of each individual client,” he said.
