Former Fidelity cross-asset specialist, Anthony Doyle, is to join Firetrail Investments as head of investment strategy for its global equities fund.

Doyle, who joined Fidelity’s Sydney office in 2019 after almost a decade for fixed income specialist M&G Investments in London, would begin the role in March.

He also spent five years at Macquarie where Firetrail managing director Patrick Hodgens worked for 28 years as well as portfolio managers James Miller and Blake Henricks.

Doyle’s role would see him join the senior investment team as head of investment strategy for the Firetrail S3 Global Opportunities fund which was launched in late 2021.

The fund aimed to uncover global companies going through positive change and those with earning upgrades or valuation re-rating potential.

Hodgens said: "We are thrilled to have Anthony join the Firetrail team. I’ve personally known Anthony for nearly two decades having previously worked with him at Macquarie. He is deeply passionate about investing, global markets, and adding value for clients. All attributes we look for in our people at Firetrail. I think he will be an outstanding addition to our global investment team and look forward to working with him on achieving our mission of generating outstanding performance for our investors".

The $6.8 billion Australian asset manager was founded in 2018 and was part-owned by Pinnacle Investment Management, which also owned asset managers such as Antipodes and Plato Investment Management.
