Fidelity International appointment to expand institutional business

Fidelity International has appointed Gary Bailey to expand their institutional business in Australia. He will assume his position on May 4.

Bailey is the former managing director of Wellington Management for Australia/New Zealand. Bailey was also the senior portfolio manager for international equities for MLC and a senior vice president of Capital National Alliance. He has more than 16 years experience in senior management roles in investment management.

“Gary’s commercial experience combined with his knowledge of the institutional landscape will be a significant advantage as we further build our institutional business in Australia. The success of our institutional business is a key plank in our overall strategy and I am very excited to have an executive of Gary’s experience and reputation to help us achieve our goals,” said Fidelity managing director Gerard Doherty.
