Federated Hermes taps UK distribution head for international role
Seeking to scale its activities across EMEA and APAC, Federated Hermes has tapped Clive Selman to lead its international efforts as international head of sales.
As head of UK distribution for the last four and a half years, he has overseen the commercial growth and development of both institutional and wholesale businesses in the UK and Ireland.
In the new role, he will be responsible for all sales activities across Asia Pacific, Europe and the Middle East, and report to Paul Uhlman, president of Federated Securities Corp.
Selman joined the firm in 2012 from Man Group where he spent 12 years in the UK sales team.
This is the second international distribution appointment of the firm in the last few months as it also appointed Jim Roland in May as head of distribution for Asia Pacific. Based in Singapore, Roland oversees sales and distribution in Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea, Australia and Japan.
He replaced Jake Nilsson who held the position for nine years and moved to the role of head of private market sales (ex North America).
“These changes are a reflection of the strong talent we have in the Federated Hermes sales team,” said Uhlman.
“Under Clive’s leadership, we will seek to scale our sales and business development activities across EMEA and APAC bringing our liquidity, equity and fixed income investment products, along with our market-leading stewardship capabilities, to existing and prospective clients.”
Selman’s former role will be taken up by Dan Churchouse, who has been head of UK wholesale distribution since 2020. He will continue to report to Selman.
The distribution team will also work closely with the Federated Hermes Private Markets sales team, led by Nilsson, Uhlman added.
Federated Hermes has over $700 billion in assets under management and provides equity, fixed-income, alternative/private markets, multi-asset and liquidity management strategies to more than 11,000 institutions and intermediaries around the world.
