Federated Hermes appoints APAC distribution head
Federated Hermes has appointed Jim Roland as head of distribution for Asia Pacific.
Roland would replace Jake Nilsson, who had taken on a new role as head of private market sales ex-North America based in London.
Having joined Federated Hermes in 2021 as executive director and head of the international client group, he would relocate from London to Singapore for the role where he would oversee the firm’s sales and distribution efforts in Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea and Japan.
Prior to joining Federated Hermes, he spent seven years at Janus Henderson in the US and UK and at James Alpha Advisers in the US.
He would report to Paul Uhlman, president of Federated Securities Corp, who oversaw global distribution at the firm.
“APAC is an important, dynamic and growing market for Federated Hermes and we have a fantastic team across the region, which is a testament to the work Jake has done. I’m looking forward to building on our momentum,” Roland said.
Uhlman added: “We have accomplished a phased growth plan for expansion across Asia Pacific over the last five years, shown by our recent office openings in Australia and Japan and a significant increase in AUM. Looking ahead, Jim and his team will be focusing efforts on aligning our product offerings to the needs of clients across Asia Pacific.”
